1586 international trans filter ?

My 15 started having a bit of a chatter in the hydraulics, acted like it may be starving for oil. I pulled out the trans filter and there are several pieces of what looks like rubber material. It is around
1/4 wide and 1/16 thick and tan in color similiar to a rubber band. Pieces are mostly 1 to 1 1/2 long. I cut open the filter and nothing out of the ordinary. I put in a new filter, bled the pump, and ran it
a bit and so far no chatter. I am guessing the material is possibly a seal from a hydraulic cylinder, but I have been hooked to a few implements and occasionaly I have a Du-al loader on it. None of the
equipment has cylnder problems. I just had a new TA, clutch and the remote valves rebuilt last spring, hate to think I have a bunch of pieces in the system. I have never been into the trans and rearend of an
IH, is there anything inside that would use this type of material, or is it most likely from a piece of equipment? Thanks for any information.

I would have to guess it is either left from an assembly job when you had it worked on or something that fell in unnoticed during that time.

we had a 1586 here, bought it with 700 hrs on it traded it off with just over 6000hrs,, I had to change the hyd filter about every 200hrs or so,, it would tell me when it was time as it would start acting funny on the 3pt, I guess "chatter" was a good way, we asked the IH mechanic about it when we first got it, he said change it at once when it does that and she will last,,, guess he was right I never had to change a hitch pump on it in those hrs,,,, now everything else I worked on from front to back at least once, but never changed a hitch pump,, MCV pumps though lol

Yes you use a rubber band to hold the rollers together on the roller bearing on the front of the pinion shaft when installing the speed transmission
