Larry,, I think part of the reason you like this Ranger is ,,well the Color! thought I would give you a update on mine,,, I have now installed most of the cab accessories front and rear glass windows, premium top,, the heater I have here and will install when we get some wet days,, horn kit and rear view mirror and license plate holder/light, yesterday I got the hard ploy door kit and installed them,,, two things left to get are a windshield wiper/washer kit and a turn signal kit,, she is street legal here all insured and plated,, dang handy for running to town and keeping the wear and tear down on my pickup,, since I bought it I think only two days was where I did not use it for a job at least once,, it has become my new hired hand real quick anyway thought you might like to see the changes

Case,

Would you care to elaborate in what state and what it took to get your Ranger street legal and registered? Under what classification was it registered?

Thanks,
Mark

Recently a local guy rolled his and got a severe cut across the top of his head. Must be something sharp up there. Also broke a leg. Still in the hospital.

I was wondering the same thing. My dad has one with all the bells and whistles you listed, but he cannot license the thing in Iowa. He can register it as an ATV but it is not considered street legal (yes it has the turn signals).

He was told that Polaris does NOT back their product as being street legal in anyway shape or form and as long as they won't back it, it cannot be licensed for street use. Polaris doesn't want the accident liability associated with on-road vehicles was what he was told.

Nice things to have but, it is a shame they cost so much.
The average person just can not afford them.
I do see all the million dollar farmers around here have them , several of them in fact.
Along with their brand new pickups .
Our farmers have it rough out here. LOL

I have not ran it enough to be sure on the road,,, so far it is in the 10-12 mpg when fencing ect,,, my Dodge with the Cummins does far better than that but I needed something to use that was not 10,000 lbs to go get a part, fix fence ,pick rocks ect,, for what I have in this I could have bought a used 1/2 ton with 80,000 or more miles on it but I hate using a pickup for fencing and picking rocks which I do a lot of,,

he must not have had the seat belt on and or the safety net in place,,, but Yes they can be rolled if you do not pay attention like any other unit, it will go places a pickup will never go

Here they must have these items to be legal, they have two classes 50" wide or more which mine is or 50" and less
for mine
two headlights it came with them
two tail lamps and also came with them
two stop lights also factory equipped
muffler,,, yes came with one
brakes I know who would make something with out brakes lol
mirror I purchased one
horn I also had to buy that kit
those are Wyoming rules for what they call a MPV multi-purpose vehicle
the plate for it cost over 100.00 more than my dsl pickup does

It took me 25 years to be able to get this one,, Yes they are spendy,,, I am getting over the cost everyday I use it though,, getting close to 150 miles on it now,, 99% of those are all Farm use but now I have it almost equipped the way I want it, it will be used for town parts runs ect
thanks for all the comments

WE have a John Deere Gator and I don't know what we would do with out it. We use it to haul fire wood its about a mile and a half to our hard wood land and we haul gravel for the woods road with it and just to play around with its a 625i so not real big and going down the road wide open it does like gas other wise not to bad on fuel its hauled out a few deer also.

In 2006 I bought a Kawasaki Mule 4X4. I had 4 wheels before but they are gone now as this is so handy. I use it almost everyday and here in Mich with an ORV sticker they can be driven on the roads. We take it to the store a couple miles away often. I had always thought they cost to much and still think they do but I would not want to be without it

I bought a Japanese mini truck and have all of the same comments. I'm not sure how I did without it. In Kansas it is street legal for farm use as long as you are not on the interstate. It comes with all of the necessary stuff as they are used like regular vehicles in Japan.

This summer I picked up a 2006 Ranger 700 from an older man that ran around his desert property. It looked brand new and only had 160 hrs. on it for $5,000. One scratch on the hood from a low hanging palo verde tree. I really wanted a new fancy colored one but they were out of my fun money range. This one does everything I need on both my Colorado & Arizona properties. I do like that blue version, it sure is pretty.

Looks like it is a total hoot! Don't forget a nice radio. Try to fit in the largest diameter speakers you can. Better sound. Have fun.

I am not going to install a radio,,,, not yet anyway, they have a full optional sound system starting at around 500 to over 2500.00 amps boosters and sound bars if you want them lol

I looked at those here,,, in the end I have a bit more in this one but its New as well,, I was worried about parts and they are just not what I wanted for picking rocks as you have to throw them back out lol a good friend or two has them and like them fine

When tire time comes, look at the Artrax CTX. They are dirt cheap and wear like iron. They are directional but not aggressively so. They go almost as good in reverse as forward. $65 front and $75 rear from Motosport. Make sure your tire man likes you cause they are a real peach to mount. One tire comes shoved inside the other. Had to lay them out in the sun to get their shape back. Asphalt is real hard on the softer tire compounds. These seem to hold up pretty well.
