Main jet removal

I broke the adjustable main jet in a marvel schebler carb. I tried drilling , heating with propane and using an easy out with no luck. Any suggestions? Thinking about trying acetylene next to get it a little hotter.

The carb I did, there was not,
it seated into the body. I used
numbered bits, till I reached
threads, tried to use a pick to
get remaining out, it
definitely was an all day
repair. The tip will be gone by
the time u see threads, and
it'll fall out once past.

Sometimes they are so frozen in the casting, they just won't screw out.
If all the normal tricks don't work, I go ahead, drill them out, and replace with new.
Occasionally I get in one where someone has tried and failed, only to send
It in, hopefully the casting can be saved.
Sometimes, after drilling one out, I discover the threads in the casting
have also rusted away. Time to replace.

Thank you for all the suggestions. Next time I will leave it alone. I never thought it would break that easy. I will have to get some numbered drill bits or a different carb. Or both. I'm not even sure what goes back in there. So far the ones I have looked at do not look the same.

Ollie........try boiling yer carb in HOT water. Seriously. Different expansion rates between the carbie and the brass jet. 2nd tip: use hollow ground gun smithing screwdrivers. Regular wedge shaped drivers muck up the slots. ..........HTH, the screwed Dell
