Another year (pics)

Just a little bit more wood to go to make our 10+ cord. We'll finish it up Thursday, weather man calls for rain tomorrow (Wednesday). Son and Daughter stacked what we had split and on the ground this morning. We had to take a lot of the oak trees away from the North end of the house ,that was core rotten, some of the limbs had hit the roof in the spring, damaging the shingles sofit and plywood, my Son re roofed with metal on the north side and replaced plywood and sofit and fascia board with cedar, that will last us a lifetime. We'll keep toasty warm all this winter,my job was to operate the handle on the log splitter (for the 3rd year).
We bought us a chainsaw sharpener from Harbor Freight, I'll tell you right now it puts an edge to the chain easy and quick. Can do about 5, twenty inch chains in about 20 minutes.
Well anyway folks keep warm and safe.Later on I will ask adirondack Case guy to give us some close up pictures on his elevator,if he has time.
Respectfully yours,
LOU

Lou Wi,

I was just wondering about you the other day....saw some crawler pictures showing some roller/idler wear. That's the trigger.

I thought I haven't heard/read from you in a bit, now I see why. That's a hefty lot of wood. Glad to see you post here. I am guessing you stay warm with all that carbon neutral heating! (not a greenie but like to stay warm in winter).

Lou, sounds like you are getting back into the "Groove" Glad to hear that.
We have been heating the living area of the house with the fireplace for about 2 weeks off and on, BUT today I serviced the central boiler, and fired it up. We're supposed to get some measurable snow in the next couple of days. My hard summers work is now going up in smoke HeHe. I filled the woodshed and the pile migrated out into the tractor shed. A bit under 21 cord stacked under cover.
Here's a few quick pics from back in Aug. harvesting my firewood, and one of the fireplace last weekend.

Hadn't heard from you in awhile, Lou, glad you're still upright and gettin' 'er done.
We don't burn the wood stove until it gets under 25?- so that means about a half cord a year, at most. Some years, hardly any at all. Rain is a pain, but if its rainin', its not freezin'. Western Washington.

I like your set up for firewood. Looks like you have it figured all out. Also your fireplace looks like a great place to end your day.
