I started this project 14 months ago. Then broke my leg and had to put it on hold.
Then they were fixing the highway all summer so I couldn't pull an over dimension load.
So Finally the route was clear and we left at 8 AM Sunday morning.
Here it is in my yard ready to make the trip.
I had to extend the tongue on the trailer to do this.
But I've always thought the trailer could use a longer one so when I cut it back down I will make it about 18" longer than it was.
Here it is out on the highway. My friend Mike followed me and took this one.
The trip took about 3 hours. I drove 45 most of the way.
Here we are, just arrived at my property. 120 miles away.
I had had some class 5 delivered and spread it out with the tractor and back blade.
Then I backed the garage in where it was going to go.

It took us about 5 hours to get it lifted up off the trailer and set down onto the ground.
I just screwed two layers of 2X6 treated lumber to the bottom of the walls and that is all it will get.
It needs a coat of paint (to match the house)and a bit of tweaking. I will do that next summer.
I'm thinking use it for 15 years and then pull it down.
The garage is 14'X22'. It was structurally sound and I hated to just tear it down but it had to go to make room for the addition on our house.
Total cost of the move - building permit up at my land (grrr), class 5, fuel, misc lumber, amber lights, OD signs, steel for the tongue, etc, etc was about $700. Chevy pulled it good. Got about 6 MPG.
Believe it or not the OD permit from the State was $15. Yes. Fifteen Dollars. I thought that was cheap.
I will sell the lights, mirrors and oversize signs on craigslist and reuse the lumber in the addition.
I've never done anything like this but knew I could.
The whole trip went off smooth as silk.
I'm no dirt man so my pad isn't perfectly level. Garage sits about 1 1/2' off from side to side. Good enough for a tractor shed.
Of course we no more than had it in place and my little 3000 moved right in. Probably thinks we did all that work just for her.
