algae bloom like stuff ?

The best I can describe this stuff is an algae bloom ? I had this down the center of my drive last year. Now there is a blob on the concrete hear at work. When it is wet it puffs up and starts turning greenish, when dry it like dries out and turns black. In the drive I tried roundup , gas , diesel fuel and none of it would kill it ! I think scraping it with the loader and covering it over with some asphalt grindings has at least keep it hidden.
Anyone else seen anything like this ? What is it ? Is it the next bio fuel ? cure for cancer ? or maybe it is the end to us all like whatever got the dinosaurs ?

try a strong bleach and water solution sprayed on it.

Yep Clorox is a good start and also pool shock. Another thing is root kill. That stuff is copper sulfate. You can buy the straight crystal on flea bay for not too much.

I googled lichen and I think you are correct. Didn't see any exactly like this but some close when in it's blackened state.
I do have other forms of lichen like in the images on trees and other stuff around here. Only reason I think of bloom was because it acts like it blooms when it gets a wet spell and swells up and turns greenish.
