Yes, the second heavy wet snowfall hit us yesterday on Thanksgiving day and the majority of farmers likely were not all thankful for it. We were still recovering from the last one when this latest 6 inches hit. I'm calling it another nail in the coffin for #harvest16.

Yaeh i saw that and was a little reserve thinking ok maybe this was a last years photo just wanted to make sure. I think if i was Rusty i would just move south LOL

Yes, SAsk. If you are using modern view on the forum it shows east central Sask. There are likely a lot of acres of crop that will stay out all winter unless we see a major improvement in weather. I have harvested in good weather up to mid November on occasion but it is rare to get that lucky with November weather.

Not looking real good for you...May be a long winter for you guys...Meanwhile in Missouri it
will be 80 degrees today with a good chance for rain over night..

I have a brother who farms at Vegreville Alberta. Talked to him this morning and he is dealing with the same thing, Rusty. He has 250 cow/calf pairs on summer pasture in northern Sasketchewan that he is attempting to get back to the home farm. He has harvested virtually none of his grain or canola as it has not stopped raining and now snowing for the past 6 weeks. Between that and cattle prices, he is very discouraged!!

Hey, that kind of weather keeps the riff-raff out.

I'd rather see mountains outside my window, but our Rocky Mountain states are getting filled up with displaced Californians. I'm kind of glad I ended up (so far) in "Sask South" (South Dakota). I'm hoping the "snow" the weather guy mentioned this morning is a dusting (should be mid 60s again by the weekend), but it's coming soon.
Long Gone to Saskatchewan

(quoted from post at 09:47:33 10/11/16) I guess that's normal life near the North Pole
As JohnDeereD mentioned, this lousy weather affects most of Western Canada. But no , this is far from traditional weather. I've combined dry flax on a warm day in November as well as tough wheat. My dad left wheat swaths out when harvest 1951 ended early, but he was able to combine it in the spring of 52 on a warm and dry April day. Our weather is always interesting.

I will GLADY mow my yard for another month. please keep your snow. I am not a snow fan at all. gobble central Iowa

I heard you guys got hit out there this week not a welcome site at all. Here in PEI we got a strong windstorm with some rain and power outages yesterday. Cape Breton received major flooding.

Not much better to your east Rusty... got 3 inches of snow Monday afternoon and evening, it's about half gone now, Tuesday evening, but it has made things very wet again. I have to get the last of my hay and straw home, 500 odd bales to go... not sure. When we will get some of them

Wow, I cannot even imagine getting snow this early. It's been running in the low 80's F down here and going back to 90F this weekend. How on earth do you farm with such weather that must last for so long and make such a short season?
