I know its a lead add to get people in to shop, but thought you may like to see it,last week boneless pork loin was 1.69 per lb.

Somebody is making a killing. Fat cattle closed yesterday for less than $1. If you figure in the rate of inflation, this is the cheapest cattle prices in my 60 years. 1983 has been considered one of the worst years in the terms or cattle prices. I sold steers that spring for $.55 a pound. Last week, at the same sale barn, good quality black steers sold for $1. 15-$1.20. That would be the same as $.50 or less in 1983.
There are a few things in the works that may change that by next year.

How can knocking a cow in the head, cutting it up, freezing it, and shipping it halfway around the world be cheaper than knocking a cow in the head, cutting it up, and shipping it to the store?

Read this article www.r-Calfusa.com/open letter-us-cattle-producers/ tells the story of the things that are out of our control! The rich man gets his ice in summer, the poor man has to wate till winter!

It's free range pasture fed there is a
shortage of that kind of meat in the u.s.
been to a few meetings on that there is a
group promoting that the other place there
getting it is Ireland. Blow up the label
it what the want

Was perusing the freezer case at the local Trader Joe's grocery store on Sunday. Had frozen cuts of grass fed beef in there - from New Zealand. None to be found from good old USA. I don't get the economics either. simple logic says not enough grass fed beef in the USA. Maybe also strong dollar has something to do with it.

I've raise it all the time if you raise them right and cook right it's ok. Had a woman served both one night to her family she didn't let them know until afterwards and then asked if they could tell any difference they couldn't. I've gave meat to potential buyers and told them it has to be slow cooked all ended up buying. It also goes with the saying the customer is always right usually the best salesman is the buyer. It also gives you a chance to compete in a niche market friend is selling grass only milk . Also if you check a Pardue university study there is a genetically modified virus in corn that's causing miscarriage in women.

If you want a melt in your mouth meal, get yourself one of those Pork Loins, season with "Penzy's 33rd and Galena Chicken and Pork rub" spice
and bake at 425 for 20 min per # of weight. Serve up with Pioneer Brand Roast Pork gravy mix with some drippings from cooking the Pork and a
Tbs. of Worchestershire sauce. Serve up with a big bowl of mashed potatoes, and your salad and bread of choice.....

If you have digestion problems or poor teeth, this definitely for you.
