8N transmission mainshaft

Can you change the front mainshaft bearing without removing the mainshaft from the transmission. Just looking at the manual it is not real clear
if you can. Thanks. John

After removing the parts needed to get to it, the main shaft just pulls out.

Just to clarify, are we talking about bearing Key # 8 (main drive gear bearing) or Key # 27 (mainshaft pilot bearing)?
