On my farm I'm down to the last field of flax as of tonight. Great harvest weather the past 3 days and I finished off oats, wheat and canola. Got some video here from a couple of weeks ago . More to follow as i get caught up.

Harvest 2016 episode 2

Thanks Rusty , always enjoy your videos . That JD combine sure looks mint . Local dealer runs out to the prairies with industrial equipment , and brings back old Articulating tractors , rock pickers and pull type combines . I purchased a MF 851 from them a few years ago , work swell enough for me. Their real market though is Mennonite farmers , as they cannot have self propelled combines. I have never seen one that looked as nice as your JD . Most have the pto guard all smashed from operator not locking the head up while in transport. Bruce

No harvest progress in western Ohio. Have had 2.5 inches of rain since Thursday. Colder temperatures but forecast to warm up and drier weather starting Monday. Very little soybean and corn harvest due to late maturity. yields are low due to the very dry summer. I bought another White 7300 combine this summer and anxious to get in the field to try it out.

Our tenant farmers harvested the rest of our beans a few days ago. So our grain is in the bin for 2016. I think the bean yield was about the best we have ever had at 60 bushels. They sure do a nice job for us. Always cut ours first. Their ability to beat the weather is almost scary.

This has been an unusual year in Terre Haute. Farmers put corn in early, most all of it has been harvested for some time. I've even noticed the combines have left cornels of corn in the field. The seeds have germinated and it's about 6 inches tall. Most of the beans are still in the field.

That is a REAL nice JD 7721. I always wanted one of those. Just liked the looks of them. Brings back memories of the old JD 30 combine. That was the first combine my family owned. Then we got a JD 55 to run corn with but still kept the JD 30 to run oats.

I can't take credit for the appearance but the previous owners were very careful with the 7721 so I'm trying to continue. Its a good big capacity machine but I lose a lot of time on corners and turns. It is best in open spaces and straight swaths. I end up running over swath with the tractor doing back and forth pickup. It is great for a spare when the CIH 1660 is broke down.
