Just saw this spider with a Web and maybe egg sacs? Any idea what kind it is? I don't think I've ever noticed one like this before.

It's a common garden spider, also called the yellow garden spider, black and yellow garden spider, golden garden spider, writing spider, corn spider, or McKinley spider (thanks to Wikipedia). I see them frequently in the garden, but not so often nesting as the one you show. They're beneficial in helping control less desirable insect pests. Let it live its life in peace.

It looks like a common barn spider. I see them all the time and leave them alone. I think they are quite facinating They catch a lot of flies and other insects. I've never known them to harm anyone but if you get tangled in the web you might hurt yourself trying to get untangled.

Think it's called a garden spider. For some reason I've seen more this year than usual, lots more.

That's my first thought, but it isn't the real bright yellow I usually associated with them. I've never seen the bags, and as many as there are this year either.

Don't know the name but just walk through a sorghum field, you will see plenty!!! At least in NE Nebraska.

We call them garden spiders down here. Don't bother anybody and catch a lot of bugs. If you want a problem spider check out a Black Widow or Brown Recluse.

Had one like that drop down into the front of my overalls just the other day . I sure peeled them britches off in a hurry , didn't know if it would do me any harm , but didn't want to wait around to find out. Bruce

If you want to see something interesting, catch a grass hopper and toss it onto one of those spider's web's. gm

Many years ago(40 or 50) the yellow garden spiders were plentiful around here(NNY).Haven't seen more then 2 or 3 in the last 30 years.
