Oil choice?

I would like to use one oil in the farm equipment and diesel pickups. Price wise it looks like Mobil
delvac and rotella are similar In price. Use rotella in the pickups and Deere oil in the farm
equipment. Deere is about 20 bucks more for 5 gallons. Anybody have good luck running one in
everything? Thoughts

My vote is Rotella T when it's on sale haha. So long as it meets or exceeds all your engine requirements any brand name oil would be fine.

15-40 in everything. 12.7 Detroit on down to the lawnmowers. My more seasoned equipment uses much less oil since I made the switch from Rotella to Delvac.

I use NAPA fleet diesel 15/40 in all my 15(gas/diesel) tractors;combines/farm truck;pick up;car;motorcycles;atvs;lawnmowers.......Have for over 30 years. Before that I used Phillips 66.However,any 'name brand' will be just fine. Have never had an 'oil related' problem. One oil for all. No mixups or confusion.

Interesting outcome. I was leaning towards the delvac due to current sales. 55 gallon drum for 556. The 5 gallon buckets are cheaper with a mail in rebate but they limit you to 2 per household

I use both Rotella and Delvac on the IH and farm vehicles. It used to be all Rotella and then Delvac was on sale. I started using it on some things and found they quit leaking oil. I'm not quite sure why I don't make one the only, but I keep finding them on sale so I have several buckets of each all of the time.

The Deeres still get Deere plus 50. I had an engine rebuild done by the dealer blow on the last day of the warranty. There was never any question about service and products as they knew all of the products were used on this farm. I guess I'll stay split just to make myself feel secure.

I have been running Deere oil in all farm equipment but I am getting tired of having several different oils. I do know when I put synthetic in my pickups the leaking became a problem. Switched back to nonsynthetic and the leaks and usage went away.

If the stuff is all old just switch to Rotella or Delvac. The other option is to run plus 50 in everything. That's a pricey choice but it would be quality oil. I'm not sure who makes their oil for them. If you don't take the machines to the dealer where you would want work warranteed just switch all of them over. It's not like your other oils aren't quality choices.

The four Deere tractors on the farm get Deere everything. They always have. I get first rate service from the dealer at a moments notice but pay dearly for it.

The IH stuff uses Wix filters and Rotella. I wouldn't dream of taking any of those tractors to the CIH dealer so I haven't worried about filter/fluid brand. With TA's and such I use the HyTran in the rearends.

I just had oil delivered from a local distributor. I don't care about brand, as long as it's labeled sufficiently. I'm more concerned about buying from a local, reliable source.

55 gal. 15/40 $394.50

55 gal. trans/hyd $353.43

These oils are used in everything, except the pickup and Jeep, which take 5/20.

We have used Delvac and other Mobil products since the 1960's. We have mostly all Deere stuff. No issues. Mobil 424 is a great substitute for HyGard.
