Flickering AMP light.

I have a Farmall 1206 and the AMP light will flicker, very lightly, going faster will not always stop the light. At times it seems to be in a steady beat and then it may stop for a few seconds and than start again. The batteries, (2) 6 volt are charged and seem to be holding a charge. The fan belt is tight and not badly worn. Any ideas?

Your voltage regulator is not well grounded or it is going bad. I had same problem with my Case 440, dull glow all the time. Made sure reg had good chasis ground, but New regulator cured the problem.

Also make sure there isn't a bad connection under the dash.

Try turning the ignition on but not starting the engine. The light should be steady on. Try bumping the dash, wiggling the wires, wiggling the lamp socket. If you can make it flicker, there is a bad connection.

Here is the strange thing it does....when you turn the key to the on position the "AMP' light will light ( solid red) for about 3 seconds and than blink until you start the engine and than continue to blink while the engine is running. I took the dash cover off and wiggled the wires, shook the panel but it just will not stop blinking. Any ideas.

If you have original IH bulbs. When you turn the key on. The AMP and OIL light should blink. If the original IH bulbs have been replaced with aftermarket. Then when you turn the key on the lights will stay red till you start the engine. Then go out.

The lights will flash anytime you shift the TA lever.

That's the way my 706 works.

Sounds like your brushes could be wore out.
