What does this thing do?

Anyone know what this is, on a Massey 240?
Its got some wiring and a plastic tube. Cant find it in the parts book. It's to the right of the battery.

It's got a clear plastic tube (covered in paint in pic) and the tach drive is connected so I don't think it's that.
It could be something to do with the air filter because it is just above it but I'm not sure that there is anything on the dash which could indicate. Seems a bit fancy for a '79 tractor??? But a clear plastic tube would have something to do with air or vacuum I would have thought.

It's not a diesel is it? Maybe I'm wrong
again, but didn't some of the thermostarts
have a device like that to energize them??

It looks like it was disconnected years ago!

Just checked the operators manual and there is an air filter warning light so I think it must be that.
Anyway, the tractor drives ok without it

it's the air filter restriction indicator #32 in top of drawing

I'm doing a re-wire. Will be removing the air filter emergency warning system methinks.

Thanks everyone for your help.
