One of our renters had custom guy pull in with a JD 8 row the day before yesterday about 3pm. They did 17 acres in about the same time I used to chop and unload about 4 loads by myself. Watched them finish up a small chunk right across from my house yesterday and I can tell you it was yielding real well. The guy we buy our TMR from finished yesterday. He has about 20 feet more corn off the end of the bunker than the tarp will cover. He also has the bunker piled abut 4 feet over the top of the walls. He was loading and moving the excess silage on the end of the bunker this morning. Looked like he might have been starting another pile behind the main bunkers. Apparently he didn't figure he needed to combine 600 acres of corn and chopped it anyway, in spite of running out of room.

I don't know what I'm gonna do with all of it. I never had silage corn yield like this. I figured I'd be done with a 23 acre piece Friday afternoon, but the best I can do will to be done there by Saturday night. That's if nothing goes wrong. There's another 17 that I usually chop, but I doubt I'll even get half if that in the bunker.
