Way O.T.-sinus issues

Had a tooth hurting from cold drinks so went to dentist and he says i have sinus issues and also to use Sensodyne toothpaste. What do you guys use for sinus issues?

I get lots of headaches and sinus pressures when the weather changes or I've been in dusty conditions. I found that using a neti-pot at the first sign helps. Bought it at walgreens and is just a little teapot looking thing that I fill with warm/hot water and mix in a packet of this salt stuff that came with it. Lean forward over the sink and pour it up a nostril. I don't know if the warmth is what does it or the fact you get some odd stuff out of there, but it works for me. I think the pot and 100 packets was $14. You can get packet refills for $10, but after 100 times up my nose I think I'll treat myself to a new pot, too.

I used to get a bad sinus infection at least 2 time a year, most times 3-4 times. I finally started using a nasal steroid spray (nasacort). It was prescription then, but it's now OTC and a LOT cheaper too.

since I started this, I think the problem may have happened once or twice in the last 6 or so years.

I've also used the sinus rinse the earlier poster mentioned. I sorta works for me, for relieving congestion.

I haven't had sinus problems for the last 2 years; the chemo treatments took care of that! Didn't eliminate the leukemia, but it took care of the sinus problems (at least for now).

Yes, But it might well be a cracked tooth. Often times these do not show up on x-rays and for some reason they can't see the crack. Been there, done that.

Like the others said sinus irrigation is the key! I have had problems for 45 years, and went to the ENT monday because I was getting them more than I had for the last five years. I got a new antihistamine and a new prescription mist spray. For daily irrigation I use 4 0z. bottles of saline. You just spray it up each nostril and breathe it in. Many many people talk about the netti pot but then admit to rarely using it because it takes a few minutes to set it up. The little bottle is four seconds every day.

25 years ago I went to dentist and told him to pull my teeth. He took X rays and said teeth are good, I had an extreme sinus infection. He wrote me a script for an antibotic. Five years later I needed sxinus surgery to fix the problem.

You may want to find a good ENT Dr.

First off I am not a doctor.

Unless messing with sick cattle counts.

What I do is rub some Tea Tree oil in each nostril then have a hot shower.

Cleans things out better than a pressure washer on a greasy tractor.

I keep them washed out with a solution of salt, baking soda mixed with water with a touch of listerine. I'm prone to sinus infections and the touch of Listerine seems to keep the infection in check.

I use to get a sinus infection every year about the time I would get rid of it, it showed back up, Sometimes it would put me down weeks. The last time I went to the dentist with this issue he told me a upper tooth had to come out. Its been about 6 years I have never had a sinus issue since. The roots had crossed over each other and were constantly pinching.

I feel your pain the tooth may be the issue.

I make a pot of spicy chili. A couple of habernaro(?) peppers will get your eyes watering, nose running and sweat rolling. That usually washes out anything.
