RAIN! RAIN!

We finally got rain earlier this AM here in south eastern NH. Nearly two inches at my place. It is too late for many crops for this year and it is far from ending the worst drought in history, but it will help wells a lot, and it should add tons per acre to the silage corn yield for the beleaguered dairy farmers.

You could certainly have some of our rain!
Raining again today, got 1 1/2" a couple
days ago. Got 10" in a week a couple weeks
back. Silage chopping is going on right now
but lots of mud issues. Reminds me of my
younger days of chopping with 2 tractors on
the Chopper. Farmers are going to have to
start making a mess of the fields to get it
out soon as the corn is starting to turn.
And frost is just around the corner.

I took my tractor to the Historical Construction Equipment Association
show in Bowling Green Ohio before the show (Thursday) and parked it on
the end of a row of equipment. I skipped Friday and it rained all day
Saturday so I didn't go (a full 3" of rain). On Sunday my lonely
tractor was in the middle of a big mudhole by itself. I fetched it
this morning, still plenty muddy but I got out O.K.

Where are you located? I was going yesterday morning but with 4inchesof rain Saturday, I thought too much mud! I am about 35 miles south/southwest of the site. But you can tell it was dry here as there is no water standing in the fields and the tile are not running much.

"They" promised rain all weekend and we barely got a drop. Still dry, guys are running corn at a furious pace.

Hey neighbor Im just north of you in Perrysburg. Was hoping to make it to the show yesterday but other things found me that needed done.

Perrysburg was well represented at the show by Ohio Cat. They displayed this brand new Cat 420F2. Slightly more powerful and sophisticated than my nearly 60 year old Ford 713!

Work right around the corner from Cat at the City garage. Yea just slightly more complicated than yours is. Nice looking machine you have, its one of those pieces that you don't realize how many jobs you can actually use it for till its sitting there.
