In spite of the rain today.....or maybe because of it, I went to the IH collectors auction about ten miles from here......80 tractors altogether, mostly IH, a few Cockshutts, some Olivera etc. Big crowd, lots of interest, but disappointingly low prices, for the seller anyways. Maybe because there were several examples of each model (most tractors were number series Farm all and IH, 56, 66 and 86 series) but all were in good original condition or older restorations, all ran well, good rubber, new batteries. 966, 1066, with or without cabs were 7500 to 9000, pair Olivera, 77 and88 were 1300, Cockshutts 550 red utility 1800. 706, 806 were from 2500 to 7500, gas or diesel. The Cockshutts 35 Special pictured brought 7000....go figure..and 4 others, a40, 50 pair of 20s, we're all over 4000. The 656 shown was 4100, and my neighbour stole the 856 for a mere 3000. Remember, these are Canadian dollars, US would be about 3/4 of that. I was there for the Cockshutts 50, but at 4200, I thought there might be better deals elsewhere. Picture show the crowds and the tractor lineup. Ben

1468 IH V8 diesel one for 30000, another for 18500
Case 870 Black Knight 9000
1206 gold demonstrator 11500
M with mounted picker restored, 5000
300 Farm all 1700
105 combines, 600 to 800
Really nice 666 Farm all diesel was right on at 7500
Case 430 triple range, original not restored but ran well 1100
Couple of factory 4 wheel drive 1206 and 806 12500 and 8500

Argggh I wish I wasn't so far away am looking for a winter project. Looking at a case 831 D or a JD 3020.

Thanks for posting. Do Cockshutts typically sell for more in Canada than the USA? I can't imagine a 40 selling for over $4,000 around here.

Can't say for sure, there must have been a few collectors in the crowd. It was a deluxe, fully optioned with 3 pt power steering etc. The other ones, a 50, a 40 40 deluxe diesel looked better but brought less. Must be a rarity thing. Ben

Seemed like that bought reasonably well to me.I saw a running M with a mount picker sell this past Spring for around $800,for those prices I'd let a few Cockshutts hit the trail.
