Not bad, unless you're landing on an aircraft carrier in rough weather. Still better than landing on a carrier in a fighter plane in rough weather. Guess it's all relative.

Not a big target when you are landing on an offshore platform with high winds. The helipad doesn't leave a lot of room for an error.

One time we had to get into a Huey chopper while it was hovering a foot off the deck. A hurricane was coming.

Still liked riding in them rather than a 8 hour boat ride in foggy weather.

That much corn would almost have to come in on the rail, or at least part of it. Corn in and DDG's out would be the ideal way with the rail cars. Probably won't work that way though.

Nah, 2 inbound scales and sampling and 2 outbound scales with probably close to a quarter mile of inbound staging.
Ethanol goes out by rail and barge and DDG goes out by truck and barge.
Google Marquis Energy for more information

According to what I just read on the net our local ethanol plant puts out 120 million gallons a year and 400,000 tons of DDG's. It is rated at 110 million gallons. The plant you toured is three times bigger.

Naw, 4 or 5 time I have been on a helicopter BUT this time easy was the Best!
The pilot "crop dusts" with helicopters and is GOOD

Back about 1993 went heliskiing, Helicopter broke down lunch time stranding us in the back country, no radio communication, we started to hike out on skies. They got the helicopter running again and picked us up on a power line (had skied and hiked to below timberline) said the fuel gelled. Makes you wonder.

Kruser I didn't think that plant looked that big till I went back to the first picture and saw the semi in front of the lower left silo.

That semi looks pretty small.
