This is the number on the block of a 358 motor in my 826 Farmall. Can anyone tell me what year it was manufactured from this # 358DT2D121432.

Thanks for any help

Get tha chassis serial number on the left side of the clutch houseing. From that you can tell the mfg date.Look at the serial number list on the left side of this page. If the sn plate is gone, there are casting date codes on the major castings(trans, rearend, axle houseings, cast rear wheels).Look something like this 11*14*(letter)

This is not the original motor,I believe it is out of a combine. It has the newer injectors that feed in the top not the side like most 358 tractor motors. It also has no shut off cable on the pump, you shut it down with the throttle leaver. So this number is the only way I can tell how old the motor is,but I have no idea how to read it.
Thanks for your reply.

The 886 had injection pump that used throttle for shut off. Combine engines always had electric shutoffs on the ones I worked on.
