Parking in yard

My '46 Farmall stays in the front yard for about 5 months (summer). Someone mentioned the
dirt/grass could be bad on the tires. Should I have them on wood or gravel?

ot nearly as bad as the sun & ozone!

I always figured moisture seeping up was bad, and it is very easy to cut a few 2x12 treated wood blocks and run up on them and park. It's what I do. Sun is also bad, in fact rain and sun and fog and condensation are damaging your tractor all the time. My opinion. and once rust starts, it creeps deeper and deeper, and rots away your fine machine.

According to tire manufacturers the only real concern that you need to have is that the oil in the rubber will push out and evaporate in the sun where the cords are under strain at the bottom where you get the little bulge. The cure is to either block the tractor up to take the weight off or add 25 lbs pressure for the time that it is sitting.

Thanks, will spray some Armour All in the rear tires some over the 5 months its in front of my log cabin in NC.
