Ford 2910 emergency brake problem

Good afternoon, it has been a while since I have written. Still a dedicated reader!

I have a persistent (recently developed) problem with my Ford 2910 "emergency" brake system. The emergency brake setup is basically a spring-loaded t-handle which, when pulled, causes a pawl with teeth to engage the same kind of pawl on the regular brake pedal. So, in a way, it's just a mechanical means to keep the regular brake pedal depressed.

Well, it has worked great for years. I could leave the tractor pointing uphill and never worry.

Now, the teeth engage but slip out of engagement all by themselves, I hear a click and the tractor is free to roll (which it has done on a few occasions). I have tried to "sharpen" the teeth (hard to do it on the brake pedal in place, don't really want to pull it off). I have also made the t-handle spring exert more tension by adding a spacer. Nothing really works.

The setup is so simple that I cannot figure out what else I can do. There is really not much to repair or replace. So, as usual, any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the part of it on the tractor is worn. Sharpening is just going to make it worse or so I would think. I have the same one on a 4630, as well as the 3600. I'm not sure if the parts are available, but the part on the tractor, I believe would require cutting it off and welding on a new one. Mine was hard to release, just going from memory, as its outside and I am home for lunch, no time to go and look. Both would seemingly be not too hard to make.
