Just Purchased A Ford 801. Hyd . Case Empty. Had Been Drained. Put In New Hyd. oil & Cant Get The Pump To Prime. Piston Type Pump. Took Top Off Hyd Resivoir & looks Ok. Hyd Control Lever, When I Move It Nothing Moves Under Top Of Cover It Also Has a Valve On top Of hyd. Cover For a remote Single Hyd hose. The Remote Valve Has A Small Lever on the Bottom That I Cant Move Either Way. I Have a I&t Shop Manual For The Tractor, But Don't Tell Me much. Hope Someone Can Help. Thanks

On the top of the pump towards the front of the tractor. there is a plug that you can bleed the air out and it should do the trick. let the tractor idle and loosen the plug so it releases the air out till you get oil out and it will work.

Remove the hydraulic reservoir dip stick. Move the Hydraulic control level to UP position. Start tractor and let it run at a little move then fast idle. Then take an air hose and blow air into the dip stick hole until the pump get its prime. It should not take long and it does not take a lot of air pressure. If it does not prime, most likely there is a pump problem.

If it has the aux hyd the control could be in a position that is is causing the 3 point not to work. You need to free up that control. I would put bit of ATF on and around it and see if you can free it up. You also might pull the inspection plate off and make sure the control for the 3 point does in fact move the control valve in side the 3 point system If it is not moving that it will never work
