I am surprise how well a Peltier heat pump works keeping drinks cold in a car.

NOT too efficient, though, at 1/4 the efficiency of conventional refrigeration!

I have a small cooler, heat pump is very small too and quiet. I think they are great for traveling.

I've tried a couple of 12V thermoelectric coolers over the years and they just didn't seem to do much. Certainly they would not cool down anything that was room temperature in any reasonable amount of time.

A simple insulated cooler with cold packs will keep anything that's already cold, cold for at least a day, for a lot less money.

My 12v cooler is very well built and does a great job. I only had it plugged in when driving. I put 2 one liter bottles of frozen water in the bottom to keep things cool when parked. After two days very little water was melted and it kept the items very cool.

Daughter gave me cooler for birthday. Glad she did.

I've had one for 20+ years, use it traveling cools 40 degrees below ambient temp. It even formed ice on the bottom when left on for long periods of time. good unit. Pete
