Thanks for sharing your pictures
I sure miss that way of life!!!!
Born and raised in Mn but have lived in northern Arizona for 44 years now
No way can we produce a garden like yours !!!!
Pete

I wish my garden turned out like that this year. As much as I like fresh produce I will have to put some thought into what I should really try to do next year. Maybe I will let it go to just sweet corn and a couple of tomato plants. Got to be a year coming up where it does not rain every day or not rain at all like this year. I like potatoes out of the garden but when you can buy them for 5 pounds at 2 dollars it is hard to justify the cost of planting, spraying, etc..

Guy just built a multi-million $$$ McMansion and
has a huge lake in front of it. Didn't take the
geese long to find the fresh green grass growing
around it. He put 4 or 5 of the german shepherd
cut-outs around the lake. They turn in the
slightest breeze, I thought they were real the first
time I drove by.....never seen another goose
there.

Canadian geese are a real problem here
as Ray pointed out the cutouts that move in the wind will help drive them away
for a while
once they figure that they are always in the same spot and don't chase them it's game on
we've tried things with motion detectors that move a lot or spray water
they are more effective for a longer time but they till figure out that its harmless to them if they
stay a bit out of their reacĥ
only real effective thing I've found is things that make a load boom
I use a 410 with blanks and keep them uncomfortable all spring they finally move on before laying
but I have to go out 5 or 6 times a day till you don't see em any more
personally I would just shoot them but you can't when they nesting
good luck
