OK, Quakes?

As I mentioned on another thread, here in eastern Nebraska I was just getting up. My wife had gone to have coffee with some girl friends and our daughter was on her way here to help my wife put up some sweet corn.

I heard something like pots and pans clattering in the kitchen and assumed one of them had come into the house. They hadn't, so the racket I heard must have been the earthquake.

Not to worry Goose.

I was working when the Mineral Virginia quake rattle North Anna Power Station. It looked like some cheap ScFi movie with the walls and furniture moving around. Aftershocks continued regularly for months and we still get small ones. The first few creeped out the dogs but they got used to it.

Just south of KC it rattled us good. I was getting dressed and all of the handles on the dresser were rattling. I looked out the window to see if the silo was still standing. It doesn't need and help anymore!

We're about 40 miles north of Wichita and got shaken around pretty good this morning. Our old farmhouse was really creaking! We have felt a number of Oklahoma earthquakes here but this was definitely the strongest by far.

We live about 43 miles south east from the 'center' of it. It woke me up very quick! A low rumble at first , then much louder. Mite of took 90 seconds and it was all over.
Just about the time of the loudest rumble , I looked out at some 40 ft. tall trees and saw the tops were blowing like in a 40 MPH wind. Never saw that before.
No damage here other than several pictures are hanging at a funny angel.
In 2011 there was 5.6 E Q that was centered about 25 miles south east of us , But todays seemed stronger .
