East Weather

The weather channel this afternoon just changed the forecast and it looks as if the east coast is going to get very wet! Sat. Sun. and Monday. Oh joy. "Hermine" Yup I am right in the middle of the path.

I live near Berlin and the farm is up near Flemington. Weather channel prediction is up to 4 inches. Also shows about four different tracks. Fun fun! I know we need the rain, but a little at a time would be nice.

I worked on a new school years ago,the mason contractor came from Berlin. It was a pretty big outfit, nice people to work for.It was many years ago.

A couple of days ago the local weather channel that was awarded the best forecast out of the half dozen stations around here had what they called a "spaghetti" map of the potential track of that TS. It looked like you dug into a pile of spaghetti and just threw it at the Gulf Coastline from it's present position. Obviously they didn't have a clue as to where it was headed.

John,La posted a pic he had from his weather caster and showed it headed right for him. He said his camper was packed and ready to head for high ground. Glad his meterologist missed it.

Not the Northeast coast though. By the time the rest of you guys take what you want as it goes through, we're lucky to get an inch worth of showers in 24 hours.

Boy I have been close to all those locations. 20 years ago or so I used to run 206 down to get to Newark at the ford plant. That way it was easier to make the corner than coming in from the north. I have run across 202 to get to PA. And I have delivered to a wide spot in the road called Bunea NJ with a reefer one time. Think it was apples or such. Then loaded back from some where near there back to MI. Been a long time. I was amazed at that time how much farm ground there was in southern NJ once you got out away from Philly/Camden area. Was flat as a floor nearly too.
Delaware has a lot of flat ground used for produce. Loaded a load of canned beans out there once down near Milton at King Cole Cannery.

this how I predict the weather
and it's more accurate then the weather guessers

Joe Bastardi, one of the world's best meterologists, on Weather Bell.com says that this is going right up the coast, and could be a Cat 2 hurricane just off the coast from Barnegat Bay, NJ to the very tippy tip of Long Island. Tropical storm force winds on the coast at least and maybe Cat 1, Monday-Tues, The rain won't entend in very far, however, unfortunately. The water temps just off shore the Mid Atlantic are just boiling, which will provide rich fuel for the storm to intensify, after it fights off a trough off Hatteras on its way north. The track is a little more west and stronger intensity than the national Hurricane Centre forecast. It could even curve in a la Sandy or Agnes. Good luck and best wishes.
