I am going to start building a large pole barn to store round bales. I would like to put one or maybe two old fashioned round cupolas on the roof. This will give the barn character, and help the roof vent. Anyone know where I guy could buy new ones? I have looked some, but found square ones. I cant find anyone building the round steel ones. Anyone have a used one or two they would like to see go back up? I would build, or have a builder build one if I could find plans.
 
Keep looking on the net they are available have you checked with a local pole barn builder. I see them from time to time on new buildings.
 
I've got a big round tin one here that I saved from the junker. I'd give it to someone if they would use it. I'm in NNY so distance as usual would likely be a problem.
 
I am going to build a square one and put on my 30x60 shop. It will keep the attic much cooler. will have vents in the gable ends. Also gonna put a lightning rod and ground system on it and maybe a wind vane.
Got lots of ideas in my old age.

Whatever you do, make them bird proof and insect proof. For some reason, birds and insects love cupolas.
 
I bought one online 10 years ago when I built my pole barn. It isn't round but it hasn't given me any trouble. I mainly bought it to dress up the building since it is near the house (a 100 yards or so) and can be seen from the road.
