Decided I would take a look at the truck that wouldnt shut off with the key. Had to step on the brake pedal to kill it, and then when you let off the brake, the fuel pump would start running again along with a couple dash lights and the turn signals would still work. Also the Trans was in limp mode. I forgot that in my first post I believe.
Long story short.....
Started pulling fuses while it was running with the key off. The blinker fuse and stop/ backup light fuse would kill it. Took it for a drive with blinker fuse out and Trans worked right as well.
I can't say exactly how I figured it out, but turns out it was the brake light switch. Dumb luck I guess.... Apparently it was backfeeding an ignition circuit somehow. This one has 6 or 7 pins on it so not sure what they all do but I guess the brake circuit got crossed with something for the ecm and probably trans as well.
Thanks for all the suggestions on my previous post, except for the one about putting a trailer hitch on it and pulling it like a wagon.... I always like to hear the outcome on others problems, so I try to post the answers to mine.
