Farmall MDV Dual Fuel Tractor

Can anyone give me information about the Farmall MDV dual fuel tractor pictured on the attachment? I was told that this tractor was one
of five created as a prototype that never got into production. However I do not know how to authenticate this claim.

The tag reads: MDV FDBKV 106005.The casting number on the front fork reads 65083?. The question mark indicates a digit or letter that I
can not read.

There's another small tag on the instrument panel that reads: NCC FOODS CORP. Under the lettering is the number 3100. Can anyone tell me
where in 1947 the NCC FOODS CORP was located and what crops they grew for which they used a high crop tractor? That would be interesting
to know as part of the history of this tractor.

The clearance from the horizontal portion of the front forks to the ground is 48 inches.

I would be grateful for any information about this tractor, or to learn if any collector or museum has one of the other four tractors
that were allegedly produced in the same lot.

Thanks so much, Ed

Tractordata lists the MDV as a production tractor although production numbers are not listed, just total M production.

If by your meaning of dual fuel as in starting on gas & then switching to diesel they all did that. If you meant something else by dual fuel please explain more & we will answer your question.

Case used that system in a few la's livinia injection system seems like what its called.I had an md and somebody messed the rods up on engine controls.lucky me, I worked at an ihc dealership.I toured the blue ribbon service manuals found the engine.took 3 attempts to get them set and timed propper.then had to get a seal kit for the inj pump.we had the tools in an old box.pump was not as bad as the rods but took a full day.when done it started great and ran fine.dyno showed I had fuel a tad high so I lowered the smoke stop.left it at 44 hp.they were noted for cracking heads.I wonder if it was because of improper shut down? If you killed it on diesel it was hard to restart

That number is a 1946. I seriously doubt its a "prototype" tractor, more likely an aftermarket change over of some sort. I would like to see the drop housings on the rear.

Here's a picture of a normal MDV, notice the front axle. That one is definitely not the standard MDV front axle. That one is quite a bit higher. There is a few around, I've seen them at the RedPower Roundup and at some big auctions down south in years past. The I've also seen a Super MDV, and a Super MV-Ta, but only once or twice of each, several years ago. They brought VERY good money 10-15 years ago when I saw them.

That's what I would guess, after market conversion.

They were part of National Can which made tin cans. NCC Food Corp was in San Jose, CA. May have been used in tomatoes.

Here's a picture from the rear, I don't have a side picture. The axles are offset about 36", and top to bottom of the drop housing is about 40"
