Deere 3010D, what's it worth?

Mowed around this today, owner says it needs a fuel tank (seems odd???) and is done messing with it and will just hire me to mow his 18 acres. Supposedly well serviced, wife's dad bought it new. They are looking for offers, so what is a non-running 3010 diesel worth?

Loader and all would brings $2500-3500 around here even non running. The diesel makes it worth more. I am not sure if the value would be as high in your area .

The fuel tank leaking is not uncommon on the diesels. Fellows never drain the fuel tanks like they did with the gas tanks. So over a period of time you get water in the very bottom. Some can lay in the vary bottom and never be sucked out. This water will rust the bottom out of the tank over time. I have seen it several times in my life time. With it being a diesel tank I usually just take them out and wire weld new steel in the bottom.

Well I was thinking of offering $2000 since it has a nice set of tires on the back, and the ROPS must be worth something. I wonder if I could get it fired up using a temporary tank? Are they hard to bleed?

Not too bad too bleed. The ROPs bring good money here, especially with the factory roof. $2000 would be a bargain here.

Location of tractor has a lot to do with value. Here in Tx if engine isn't stuck I'd guess $4000-$4500. ROPS & canopy alone is worth $750-$1250. 46A loader another $2000-$2500.

CAUTION: If you buy tractor be sure to put trans. gearshift in tow position before moving tractor.

Get it WI and I will give you $4000 for it. It has a Deere wide front which is worth $750-1000, the loader is worth $750-1000,rollguard $750-1000 and you still have the rest of the tractor to fix or part out. Wish I could find some like that in my area. Tom

From the look of the tires and considering it needs unknown work, around 1500 if you can fix it yourself, probably not worth fooling with if you
have to hire someone to work on it. Just about all used tractors are cheap right now, older two wheel drives are dirt cheap,

From what you're saying I'd take a chance it'd be fine except for the tank.I'd go 3K on it you can easily get that back out of it if the engine is shot and a whole lot more if it turns out OK.

I bought one with a narrow front and no loader one time for $3000. I'd have been about $10,000 ahead if I had hauled it right to Stamm Equipment and sold it as a parts donor for $1500. That thing was a bigger money pit than a boat.

Supposedly those 3010/3020 engine blocks are in short supply. If the block, crankshaft and head are good do they have much value? What about the fenders, 3 point hitch, radiator, hood, second hydraulic valve kit and the main hydraulic pump?

Called and offered $2500 today, they are going to think it over...said they gave around $14,000 for it 18 years ago...so I doubt they will take my offer.
