Americans Eat More Meat

According to an article on the marketwatch.com website today Americans ate a record amount of beef, pork and chicken last year. That's the good news, the flip side for producers is the retail price is expected to drop. Sorry I don't know how to link it.

I don't understand why pork is so inexpensive, we can buy nice pork chops, steaks, or roasts for under $2! We eat venison,fish, and buy chicken and pork, we buy very little beef. And I grew up on a beef farm!

Hogs have litters and it only takes a few weeks/months to bring them up to butchering size. Very easy to glut the market with cheap pork.

I hunt and fish also, and eat the proceeds. You sure can't beat a good porterhouse steak though.
