When was the 'T' introduced? what models of cars did Ford build and market BEFORE the 'T'?I'm becoming more and more fascinated
with Modle T and A cars lately. Want to know more. BTW,been watching several Utube videos about them lately. It's like adding
fuel to a fire. LOL Thanks,Steve

Model T made from late 1908 into 1927. Before that, Ford made An R, S, earlier model A and some others I can't remember.
Over 15 million Model T's made.
There are a lot of good books out there about Model T's.
This is my 17 that gets used here on the farm and driven to town once and a while.

Because the Model T was sold in such great numbers, and because they tended to be pretty "plain jane" in order to hold the cost down, it created a huge aftermarket of add on devices, accessories, etc. Good economy booster.

I have a complete repair manual on a model T Ford. Talk about a detailed book. Scraping t he connecting rod bearings etc. I don't think they were so darn simple as some people make them out to be.

I have rebuilt several T engines. I have a pouring and line boring setup for the main bearings and have fitted many a rod bearing. Not that hard to do. Farmers used to work on these at home.
I got to where I could take an engine out in 45 minutes.
Most folks are just afraid of that technology because they have never done it.

Meadow Gold in Delta has a Model TT they restored about 15-20 years ago. I hauled anhydrous ammonia into Potato Growers and got to see a lot of the process. Really cool.

Meadow Gold is shut down in Delta. The building is empty, and for sale. They rented the old PotatoGrowers shop for years. It is gone too. Dont remember ever seeing the TT truck.

Wife and I just got back last week from Dearborn Mi
spent 3 days at the Henry Ford Museum and the Ford Greenfield Village
good time, so much to see, Model T cars running around the Village
sound so good .
you could spend 2 days just in the museum if you wanted to ..
a lot of people think the museum is a car museum its not
all kinds of history .
The Lincoln Limo that President Kennedy was in when he was shot is there.
Cool Place for a vacation.

My cousin has a 1914 T. It's pretty cool, he stops by a few times a summer and we go for a ride. There is a model T jack across the road in my shop, don't know where my grandpa acquired it. My cousin bought a huge supply of NOS model T parts, and pretty much does all of his repairs himself.

I had a crush on the Mod T but got over it because their top speed will get you run over. Was working the Summer's Last Blast a few years back and saw many Cherry T's, also Saw one totaled by some genuis taking one on the hwy and got rearended.

My wife and I test drove a T touring car. It topped out around 45, had a starter and an inline water pump. Its shocking how small the interior is. We passed on the T cause i wanted a little more speed. The next owner kept boiling the water out cause the Internet didn't tell him to retard the spark going down the road. He finally cracked the block.

I still want a Model A...just need to hit the lottery.

I always thought a model A would be fun too. Last time I checked prices a nice one could be had for $10,00. Still a lot but not that bad.

I believe the model T was introduced in 1908. It wasn't exactly mass produced until Ford invented and put to use the assembly line in 1915. Then production drasticly increased. If you find one ahead of 1915, I would say you found a rare car. I myself havnt seen one older than 15. Ford made other models before hand, but I cant tell ya what they all are. Production stopped in about 27 or 28 with the release of the model A. I hope I am telling you right, because I did not research this and just going from off the top of my head.
