Need help on a part or where to get it.

Been busy but am going to need some bronze bushing and need a supply source. Fairly common sizes but need 2-1/2 long. Most local places have only short ones. Any one got some industrial place information. Would beat having them made.

Most good machine shops have bushing material can cut it any length you need

Why does it have to be in one piece just use short ones and cut off extra why wouldnt that work

Another possibility is Online Metals. I've used them before with good results--I'm linking their bearing bronze page. They specialize in small-quantity orders, though of course you'll save more if you order more.

Oilite bearings were first invented by Chrysler Corp. Here is a link. Oilite bearings have a form of lubricant build into the bronze. For most applications.

Some might, but they typically need oil worked into them. The brass is highly porous, if you take, say, a door hinge bushing, set it on your thumb, fill it with oil, and squeeze, you can force the oil right through it. You can also soak them overnight.

They invented it for the military during world war 2. Chrysler also built the Apollo rockets.
