Saw an ad on Craig's list for a Case VAC cheap. Called the guy and he told me where he was and I told him I had noticed that tractor many times. Guy lives next door to my sister. I told him on the phone I would come get it tomorrow. Ya like I need another tractor. He thinks it is a 1948. Another real nice thing that it is 4 or so miles from me
 
Well I have 2 VAC parts tractor and a VAI that well I need to work on it but just haven't got around to it yet. This one is suppose to have a 3 point on it and run for about scrap price. Guy say it runs just need a battery and gas. As long as it will turn over and free wheel I figure it is a worth it just in parts but I'm likely the use it to rake hay till I find some one who needs/wants it
 
Like me and things that go bang. Wife keeps asking me how many I need. I always say, just 1 more than I have. Did get pretty ill about 20 yrs ago. Sold a few to make house payments. Otherwise probably would have lost the house. Off work for 6 months.

I always liked the VAC's. We had two over the years, and I wish I had at least one of them back.

It saddens me to see an old tractor sitting in the weeds rusting away, engines froze up, tanks rusting, carbs, engines, trannys filling with rain water.
I'm not a collector of old tractors. Mine are working girls, lawn mowers in summer, push snow in winter. Grade driveways, level dirt. I Never collect, just use them.

Hope you get the tractor, get her up and running, then find her a high and dry home. Make her earn her keep too.
