Tips for priming a MF 1080- non gravity fuel tank

I have a MF 1080- it is a platform type of tractor with the fuel tanks beneath the operator therefore below the engine.
I changed the fuel filters and have been working my forearms to death pumping the left pump to prime it.

Any tips?

I opened the bleed screw centered above the filters, I can hear air/fuel/suction but it seems like it can't get it to prime. This seems to be the issue whenever I change filters on this machine.

Any tips?

If possible fill the filters with clean diesel before installation. You might try pressurizeing the tank.Wrap a rag around a blownozzle and insert into filler neck. The air will push the fuel up. Your lift pump may be getting weak, that may be why it wont pump up.Check the pump pressure with a gauge.

If the filters are NAPA/WIX brand make sure there is NO extra O ring in the filter top outer groove, that's the filter inlet. I've lost count how many service calls to correct that mistake. There should not be that much trouble with the lift pump drawing the fuel out of the tank, unless there's a suction side leak or a bad check valve inside the lift pump. Also make sure the small constant bleed off fitting is open, it's on top of one of the filters. When it gets plugged the trapped air can't get out where it should and goes to the injection pump causing shut down.
