FORD rough problem. Bit long

I have a 2003 Expedition that I bought used a little over a year ago. It is like driving your living room down the road! Love it. I have done a lot of tuning and repairs so that it is now a super dupper. One of the first things was to have NGK Irridium plugs put in her. They are life time and the engine runs great. Just say I have done about $1500 worth, and so I have a nice vehicle at a good price. Fantastic in snow.
Here is where the problem starts. About three weeks ago I started having a miss in the engine. Thought it might be one of the injectors so I put in Cheveron tectron cleaner. Helped a little so I filled the tank with Hi-test and put in a can of Sea Foam. Still getting Worse. Finally two days ago I took it to my mechanic in town. Gave him all information I could and took a transit bus home. Four o'clock my cell phone goes off and she is all done. Wait for it! I don't know if it was the First other mechanic's helper or what but, the little lock tabs on EVERY single plug that go to the coil packs had been busted off. The plugs were falling off the coils and that is why I was having miss fires. They glued on the plugs with some silicone. She runs smooth as silk now and I only payed $125.oo plus the oil change. If you ever have a coil pack go bad on the Magnum engines, and on other makes of cars, be careful not to break those little tabs! I might put one of the real tiny tie-wraps on each one just for giggles. Just my tip for the day.

those connectors were bad for that , the plastic gets really brittle and when you go to take them off the lock tabs just fall off, BTDT , what would we do without zip ties......

The coil connector tangs are stronger than the injector tangs so be very careful with those. The main repair I see and have used were using zip-ties. The worst fix I have dealt with (not used myself) was super glue, idiots that use this method must have zero consideration of future repairs without connector and component replacement.

The ones that used super glue where trying to get it to run long enough to get rid of it, they didn't care what kind of problems the next guy had with it.
That's pretty much the general attitude in todays world. Once it's gone it's not my problem any more.
