I know it's an old tractor, but those faded fuel tanks just drove me up a wall in the way they look (probably because of what I had to pay for 'em). Got one side done before lunch.

Looks really nice. How is the new tractor workin out for you? Looks like a beast. I have never been in a newer MF before.

I tried everything under the sun and nothing would touch it except the "Wipe New". 'Course $24 for an ounce and a half would only do one side. Expensive irritant. :>)

It's a monster and way more nimble than my H. Really like the thing. Front tires are taller and twice as wide as the rear tires on the H. :>)

Wipe New is a really good product. High dollar, but lasts for several years.
I looked at the data on your 8050 and see that it has a Sisu engine.....that's a new one on me?? Hope it works out good for you.
 
I paint mower gas tanks in winter with Rust-oleum black "plastic" spray paint. Works pretty good actually.
 
Sisu diesel motors have been around a long time, MF have been putting them in big masseys for what 25 years? They have since bought valmet Valtra to obtain sisu.
 
My better half is half Finnlander. She says the American equivalent of the Finnish word "sisu" is guts....
 
Massey has only been using them for around 10 years. AGCO started using them around 2004, before that they used Cummins. Massey didn't go exclusively to Sisu until about 2012.
 
"Mothers has a product for plastic called "Back to Black" that has worked well for me..."

It has worked well for me too John. On cars and other things.
Can't say I've tried it on a fuel tank but far cheaper than $24/oz.
