Best place to sell a Cub tractor

Oldest Sons Mother in law has a Cub that was her late husbands, she wants/needs to sell it and it won't bring much where we live. I am going to Maryland in early August to deliver another tractor and then to Iowa to pick up some equipment, this leaves me a lot of options as to where to drop it off. I thought about the monthly Mcgrew consignment sale in Seven Valleys PA but I can find a consignment sale or auctiontime dealer in any state in between Louisiana and Iowa. It is a good running little tractor, 1949 model, good tires, 12 volt system, straight tin and all around good condition but no extras such as cultivators or sickle bar. Any ideas on where the best market might be for the little tractor? I hope she can get $1000 anyway, or at least that much before commissions, I am not going to charge her to haul it. Thanks.

Cubs are very popular in the northeast. Someone close to Maryland could very well be interested. You could list it in the classifieds here and offer to deliver somewhere on your route. Farmallcub dot com also has a fairly active classifieds section, and several members in the areas where Cubs bring the best money.

Based on your description, you should have no problem getting what you want out of it.

Sell it a long way from home so that you never have to see the buyer again. That is how I sold my Cub and 850 Ford.

I saw 3 of them sell this past Thursday at the TriGreen monthly auction. None of them ceme close to a thousand. I think around 700 was the average price for them. She may be a little disappointed after they are sold and the commission is taken out she'll probably realize somewhere in the 500 dollar range as her money. Keith

I sold a Cub several years ago for $1500.00. It had the moldboard plow and was always sheltered. He came from upper NY. The seller told me had
the sickle bar mower, but couldn't find it. Hal

I would place it on Craigslist in some ares you are going and advertise free delivery. It won't cost anything to see what kind of responses you get.
