The measurements will depend on exactly which suspension and spring combination you have, but this pic shows how they go together. Putthe front hangers on square with the trailer andmake sure the center hangers are exactly the same distance from the front hangers, this is the critical measurement for this type suspension as far asmtire wear.

I am looking at a Dexter manual # lit-001-00 and it mentions how they work. I do not see dimensions listed as to where to place the hangers from each other ?
Are those Dexter axles ? I'd call them. There is one in OK ph# 405-262-6700 or the headquarters in IN ph# 574-295-7888

What I did was highlight your subject line, right click and select Google, and the first option was a video explaining it. By the time I got done watching it Jon F had given you a good response! When I used to build trailers I would measure from the tip of the front axle to the center of the ball coupler, and get both sides the same. Then I would measure from center of the front axle to center of rear, and get that the same. I always did this with the trailer upside down on sawhorses. By doing this my trailers pull straight and do not wear tires.

I was just going to come back and tell him to assemble the entire suspension and align the axles that way because there can be discrepancies in the axle/suspension components that lead to out of alignment issues. The best way is to pull the hubs and measure from the end of the spindle. It's not uncommon to get as much as 1/4" difference in the hangers when done this way.
