And it didn't take much diesel fuel to haul it all in. Oh well maybe 3rd cutting will be heavier. Still have15 more acres of second cutting to do here on the home farm, then off to the other place to cut bale and wrap 70 acres of second cutting. I get lots of seat time.

I've got about 40 on the ground. I'm going to cut another 20 tomorrow before I start baling. A whole bunch of variability in it. Some will be completely gone by the time it goes through the rake and pickup of the baler, some was almost waist high and as heavy as first cutting. There's about another 22 after that that's worth cutting now,the rest is more grass, older seedings. I'll let them stand and hope for rain.

Dry here also. First cut taken off second week of June. Little to no rain until last week. Alfalfa grew, but budded early and no bottom grasses to fill in. Last weeks rains were too little too late. Second cut is not good.

Now I am somewhere in between Loren and you Bruce, and our first cutting was only fair and the second cutting was much better. We had a good rain last week and from the looks of the weather coming east, we should get another decent rain within several days to help the third cutting and the corn. 50 miles southwest of me in the Henderson Harbor area, they are desperate for rain.

Our second cutting was exactly half of what it was last year. I knew it was light, but was really disappointed.
