Can't find much info on the net about a Wico XH-1137 magneto. Was wondering if it might work on a Case SC?

My Wico manual lists the Wico AH 1137 in the following applications, Hercules ixA3,ixB3 and ixF3. It doesn t show up anywhere else.

If the rotation is correct (most likely) and the length of the impulse lugs is appropriate, most likely it will fit and you can start and run the tractor.

Impulse lag angle (which determines running timing) will vary a bit between mags of different spec numbers, but most likely the mag will be pretty darned close, and you will see no issues, possibly unless you need max hp/put it in a tractor pull.

Good morning Bob, I enjoy your informative posts and you and I agree like 99.9% of the time (great minds think alike ??? lol) but I take a different approach to your statement, at least as far as Wico X family of mags are concerned, when you say:

" Impulse lag angle (which determines RUNNING timing)"

Its my understanding: (maybe right maybe wrong????? Help me out here if I'm wrong)

1) Lag Angle is defined as "HOW MANY DEGREES START/IMPULE TIMING LAGS BEHIND RUN TIMING"

2) Run timing is NOT dependant upon NOR affected whatsoever by adjusting the Lag Angle

3) Run timing is "mostly" a function of a) The Drive Cup (like a 25 or 35 advance drive cup),,,,b) The rotational (CW or CCW) adjustment of the Mag in the governor or whatever base its mounted in ,,,c) The points gap

4) Once the spring wind n trip impulse assembly drops out of operation (around 250 RPM) Lag Angle setting HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH NOR AFFECTS RUN TIMING as then ONLY (mostly) the mags mount position and drive cup and point gap determines run timing

5) When you adjust the Lag Angle, that's more for setting up the start/impulse timing and how much it LAGS (more or less) the run timing. Once the drive cup and mags CW or CCW turning/adjusting and points gap is all set RUN TIMING (over 250 RPM when impulse drops out) IS FIXED AND IS NOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT CHANGED BY CHANGING LAG ANGLE

6) HOWEVER once run timing is set, if you go and adjust/change Lag Angle, then you're changing the start/impulse timing and how far IT LAGS BEHIND THE RUN TIMING

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ITS MY UNDERSTANDING "IMPULSE LAG ANGLE DETERMINES START TIMING" NOTTTTTTTTT RUNNING TIMING as you stated.

If your drive cup and rotation is all set so run timing is at say 25 BTDC and you want it to start/impulse at TDC, the Lag Angle is adjusted for 25 degrees behind run timing so it start/impulses at TDC WITHOUT HAVING TO TURN THE MAG EACH TIME.

Hey I may be dead wrong and am always willing to learn so please help me out if the above isn't correct for Wico X family of mags IVE BEEN WORNG BEFORE JUST ASK MY WIFE LOL

Thanks Bob, have a great day
