Can't find an old style test volt meter as all seem to be digital. My Mac was trashed by an electronic ign years ago but remember Snap On had them also. No luck w/ebay, any suggestion where to look?

I have an old Micronta that's been through the mill. Actually just came out of the basement after using it this evening. Just looked on ebay and find essentially the same VOM for 15$ Of course I grew up, and still call them all, Simpson meters.

I used a Triplette model 310 for years with AT&T . On several rainy days on trouble calls, I would be running high resistance shorts and such. Every which way I tested, I would see the same amount of trouble. After while I figured out I was toting the trouble with me. Meter would be soaking wet and was reading trouble in itself. I told a buddy and they all had a good laugh, but most of them had the same thing happen to them before. Tommy

Thanks for all reply's. Dream would be to find an old Snap On meter in the red metal case, ohm meter also. Guess I could wire up a good Stewart Warner w/alligator clips to get by?

Amazon has a number of analog voltmeters at reasonable prices. They won't be Simpsons, but then you will not feel despair when you break one. Get a couple of disposable cheap ones for basics and a Simpson when you need precision.

Last I knew Simpkins (sp) 260 where still being made and they are the best of the best but then you also pay for them but they are top of the line
