OT update on boat diagnostics

I do not have an oil pressure issue, but really did not expect that. I put a meter on the sensor and saw the resistance change when cranking it. I then looked in the gauge diagnostics and was able to get a digital readout, it popped right up to 50 PSI when it fired, then bled back off once it killed. I did find the low oil pressure shutdown switch, but it has 3 wires on it, not sure of their function.

It sure sucks that boats do not support the ODBC code readers.

Most common thing I have seen. One wire is a common wire. One wire for pre alarm or warning light. One wire for shut down.

Can you ohm out the oil pressure shut down switch, see where it is with engine off, compared to engine running? The switch could be bad.

What is shutting down? Fuel or spark? If it's loosing fuel, I suspect there is a way the fuel pump knows the engine is running. (oil pressure?) If it doesn't get the signal, it shuts off the pump. Is there a crank position sensor? Fuel pump relay?
