Not exactly an antique, but this seems like a good place to ask.
My dad just bought a used JD 6675 skid steer. Seems like a decent machine, it was showing only something like 811.1 hours when he bought it. After running it for a bit, the hourmeter goes up as it should, but he realized next time he started it that it was back down to 811.1.
How can this even happen? And can it be fixed without a new display?
I really don't know if this bothers him too much or at all, but I'm really curious about the whole situation. I could see it going back to zero somehow but a specific hour like that?
Thanks!
