Bad hair cut

You know things are going good when I am complaining about a bad hair cut. I went to the barber shop last Sat, I have been going to for years. The regular girl was busy. I didn't to wait. I went to a new person in the shop. The last time my hair was this short was in the Navy. I need to wear a big brim hat to keep my neck from getting sunburned. Growing up, Dad had a hired man living on the farm who cut our hair with a hand operated clipper. He would cut some and pull some,If he didn't keep the clipper going fast enough. Do any of have your wife cut your hair? Stan

My wife cuts my hair about every other time. They have raised the price here because of a shortage of help, used to be $10 on Tuesdays, now it's $12.

I cut my own hair with a buzzer and two mirrors so I can see the back of my head. I cut it with a 1/2" comb about once a month. A lot of it has fallen out anyway(or taken early retirement, to say it formally).

Decades ago when I lived in Chicago I needed a haircut for something big and was running out of time. I stumbled upon a beauty in an alley so I stopped in and asked them if they could give me a haircut and they said yes. It was full of women and I noticed that they were drinking tallboy cans of beer. Nothing like that ever happened in any of my barbershops. I sat down and they washed my hair. Nothing like that ever happened in any of my barbershops either. Before they dried it to cut it they opened the refridge and asked me if I wanted a beer. Sure, I had two tallboy Buds. The haircuts weren't very expensive, they did I great job, I think. I went there the rest of the time I lived there. It was great. Beer and a haircut.

Stan, My barber asks and I tell him what I want. Answers range from a winter, a fall, a spring or a summer cut. Last one was a short summer cut.

my wife has been cutting my hair for 43 years. Only one bad haircut. Never let your wife cut your hair when she is mad at you. I don't remember what she was mad about but I haven't forgotten the haircut!

Who cares about the results, tell us about the substitute hair cutter, HOPEFULLY a grrrl!

(quoted from post at 22:28:54 07/11/16) I cut it myself, that is what the creeper wheels miss!
Been there done that! Not a pleasant experience at all!
I keep it cut shorter now. My sister is a licensed beautician.
She cuts my hair when our schedules allow.

My youngest son is Army National Guard. He comes home before drill weekend and I cut his and he cuts mine. Works for us. Both of us have a full head of hair although his hairline may be starting to retreat just a little.

I take the clipper and cut everything that I can reach down to the scalp; wife finishes what I can't reach. Haven't been to a barber in 15 years either.

There was a beauty shop in town that the older ladies took off their blouses for a shampoo. I never got a haircut there but only went to pick up my mom. I think all of the ladies were at least 50 and I was about 18

Bought a good set of Whal clippers 20 yrs ago when barber raised his prices to high. Can count on one hand the number of times I have returned. They paid for themselves in three months.

I think I have only paid for 3 hair cuts in my life. My Dad cut it up until he broke his back. My Ex mother-in-law cut it. My best friends wife cut it, and now my wife has been cutting it for the last 12 years.

Wife did till she passed. Now the girl that was doing my wife's hair is doing mine. Knew her families from years ago.

I've had plenty of crappy cuts, and paid for them all. The worst I got was 30 years ago in a neighboring town. Needed one for a wedding or something and the regular barber was busy so I went to a shop operated by ladies. The lady who cut my hair had a very large chest and short arms, she also cut the front of my hair from the back and the back of my hair from the front. Lol! Made for an interesting time to say the least. Didn't figure out why the ladies acted confused when I asked for a cut and giggled the whole time I was there til a few weeks later when the establishment was raided by the cops for promoting prostitution. Was both the best and worst hair cut I've ever gotten.

I am going on 72 and never had a haircut in a barber shop Mother cut it until i got married and wife has cut it for47 years. A good tip, I don't ever complain about a bad cut or I may loose my barber wife!!

Guess you have to be as old as the hills to remember the 'Flobee'. Was a do it yourself at home hair cutter system widely advertised on TV in the 80s. For me, I go the the Hack 'n Whack barber shop. Barb, the gal that runs it, is a classically trained barber and knows how to cut hair. Beauty shop stylists have no idea what a hair cut is.

Reminds me of one time in the Marine Corps.

I'd been on leave, and was going to the Naval Air Station a Jacksonville, Florida for some school. I got pretty shaggy while on leave, and the night before I reported in at JAX, I stayed in a hotel in downtown Jacksonville. The hotel had a barber shop, so I just got a haircut there.

Next morning I was checking in at the school office at JAX when a Captain kept looking at me kind of funny. He finally came over and said, "I don't want to embarrass you, Sergeant, but where in HELL did you get that haircut?"

When I told him at a hotel downtown he said if I'd gotten it on the base he'd raise heck. I actually didn't think it looked all that bad, but I waited a week and got another haircut on the base.
