I have a 54 inch cut kubota zero turn that needs new blades. Is there something better than OE?light use about 1 1/2 hours a week.South La. It's used from March thru October.

I don't know if they're better but I bought a set of 3 Oregon blades for my 52" Simplicity ZTR for $39.99 with free shipping on Ebay and they worked really well. Oregon also has blade sets for Kubota.

Gator Blades. They are thicker than the factory type blades for my CCs, and cut better and last longer. I have a set on one of my Cub Cadets that have been on there 3 years now, but it only gets run 13 or 14 hours a year. The set on my other one I put last year about this time, and they get used like 2 - 3 hours a week, and have held up very well. They probably should be repalced now, since the little mulching fins are about gone on the ends, but they still cut fine, so Im leaving them for now.

I ordered mine from Jacks Small Enigne Warehouse. I dont recall the cost, but were cheaper than even Home Depots Cub Cadet blades.(Which are the same as the dealer blades, but only slightly cheaper.Im not sure what the shipping charge was, if any, but it was still cheaper.)

Is Kubota really that bad on blade prices ? I know JD is not. JD also lists several different lift types too. Some mowers and weather conditions Gator blades work better than stock and some not as good ! Cost you the price of a set of blades to find out !

Been a Kubota dealer for 28 years , your question did not mention PRIC but in my opinion the oem Kubota is as good as you can get for the money. I have customers that over the years have tried off brand blades and soon or later they seem to come back to the Kubota blades. Price of steel is off in the last year and blades have began to come down however most dealers will not cut their price till old high priced stock is gone.

It's more about performance than price, bought the mower used and not sure what brand is on my machine. They sure don't seem to hold their sharpness for very long

I believe Kubota's are a good blade, not sure on their price. Everything here runs Oregon's. Very fair and very good on wear. Believe me, these guys are hard on blades. You'll have a local Oregon dealer who can get them for you. I have to buy them usually 30 at a time.

I use OEM blades only on my Dixie Chopper and Case/Ingersoll mowers. My former Dixie dealer tried to sell me a set of Stens blades once. He said Dixie blades are made in Brazil (not) and Stens blades are USA made. A few dollars difference on a set of three blades ain't going to break the bank. I may be wrong but I think I read somewhere the Oregon makes most of the blades for the OEM's. But then again, if price only the the only requirement there is all kinds of crap out there to be had. Do yourself a favor and get the OEM blades.

The link will get you to the gator blades. I have had nothing but bad luck with the Gator blades,I break them, after three sets on three different mowers I run stock JD high lift blades. Right at $80.00 for the three blade set.

I know the JD blades have their part number on them. I service a Kubota for the neighbor and I'm not sure if theirs have the Kubota part number or not on them ? Clean them up really good should be some I'd on them so you don't end up with the same ones.
Hers hold up well. Soil conditions and amount of rocks will effect life of blades.
