weekend disaster

Had to take the mower into town to mow a lot we have. The grass was getting tall with all the rain. Blowed a rear tire on the truck on the way home. No place to pull off and getting dark. Tire about tore the side of the truck up. Had to go about half a mile to a stopping place. Thought I was going to get hit once. Got son's truck to bring trailer home. Broke the trailer wiring jack on his truck. Farm & Fleet had the best price on tires. Drove an hour to get there. Verified twice that they had the right tires. Did not check after they were installed. My bad. Got home and son and his friend told me they did not put on the right load range tires. Half an hour on the phone. Get to go back at 9:00 in the morning to get right tires. Friends coming over tomorrow and was going to make homemade ice cream. Went to get can from freezer and it had quit a couple of days ago. Food was still cool. Can't find die grinder or Dewalt cut off grinder. That's just the major stuff. I'm going to be ready to go back to work Monday.

You might want to think about maybe not buying the cheapest tires you can find,a good tire might have saved you a whole lot of trouble. Also check the date on tires when
you buy them many times tires are cheap because they are old.

How about a review on how to check the date on a tire.

Thanks

Break downs and flats are hard to deal with when you only have so much time to get stuff done. Had to flats yesterday. One on my Farmall 706 and one on the F460. Had to go hunt down a 13/16 6pt socket. The 12pt took off 5 of the six o t en 706, but one keep slipping. Lost an hour looking for the 6pt. So now I have to get the flats fixed and that will take time again. No fun.

One side will have the DOT number and also the date code. They changed it some years ago but is simple: for example if you see in the box
( 30/15 )
It means the tire was made during the 30th week of 2015.
