Well everyone always complains about TSC thought I'd add a couple good things that happened this week with them.Bearing went out on my NH 851 baler TSC is only 5 miles from my farm
NH dealership is 20 miles stopped by TSC just to see if they had the bearing, sure enough just what I needed NH would probably had to order it at 2X the price.Had a hydraulic hose pop while I was mowing called the wife told her to go to TSC and see if they had a 2ft 3/8" NPT hose while I went and raked some hay she shows up in about 20 minutes with the exact hose I need 10 minutes to
put the hose on and I'm back in business. And I'll guarantee NAPA would have been 3X or 4X the price on that hose if they had to make it up.

As long as the quality is comparable then you got a deal. OEM quality used to be superior to what stores such as TSC or back in the day Central Tractor offered. I think both CNH and JD have let quality slip on common replacement parts so you may have made out better than what I think you did. Got my fingers crossed.

I recently had a U-joint break on an IH hay rake. Called quite a few local places looking for one. No luck locally. Bearing supplier in Nebraska had several. They would ship.
Went by Tractor Supply, they had it. Also picked up a few other items while I was there.

I have found that some stuff they have is pretty good and other stuff if pure junk. A few weeks ago I picked up a pocket knife form TSC for $1.29 and it was a name brand knife. Wish not that I had gotten all 5 of the knifes they had for that price

Excellent point, buying name brand or big dollar nowadays often gets you nothing different than a lighter wallet

For the last couple years I took a liking to RK. Ask them the other day for low silicate, anti-cavitation antifreeze for diesel engines and they never heard of it. TSC had it on the shelf. Last Sept or so, needed more twine; RK was out for the year, TSC still had a supply. Kinda liking ole TSC.

The local TSC is pretty decent. We buy our chicken and goat feed from them. The local feed mill's laying mash is the best way I know of to get your chickens to quit laying so we buy our laying mash from TSC (and so does everyone else with small flocks). Conversely, the local feed mill's pig feed is excellent. TSC sells a lot of oil, welding supplies and bolts too. I'd wager they give JD a run for the money on L&G sales.
