anyone out there with a 336 baler that misses at times or does tie but then breaks? my twister fingers are almost new but the shaft that holds them has a few small grooves in them. Is this a problem you think? The shafts are 91.00 each and fingers are 86.00 each. Had a good man come and adjust all he could. Any ideas or thoughts are welcome. This is a wire baler.

Do you pour oil on the wire in the boxes after installing in the baler. IMHO wire isn't as oily from the factory as it was 40-50 yrs ago. Also you can try retarding twister hook one tooth from factory setting.

There are two plastic wire pulleys on the bottom of the baler that sometimes stop turning due to rust or whatever. Then the wire cuts into it creating too much friction pulling the wire through. It will cause wire twists to break by putting a little too much tension on them. Also smear a little grease on the twister shafts to help the twisted wire pull off it.

IMHO if plastic rollers have deep grooves in them then baler will have bales that don't get tied(no twist) not wire wrapped around twister shafts.

Another thought on twister shafts is if the shaft only has a wire groove in on side then shaft can be rotated 180°.
